Dear Ms. Hiscock,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located series titled General Index to Civil War and Later Pension Files in the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs (Record Group 15) and a series titled Regimental and Company Books of Civil War Volunteer Union Organizations, 1861 - 1867 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1762 - 1917 (Record Group 94) that may have information pertaining to George Hiscock and his unit.
Since the digitized images are not available in the Catalog yet, we searched Ancestry and located military files for a George Hiscock including the General Index to Pension Files. Ancestry may charge a fee for this service. To view this online service for free via a NARA PC at one of NARA's facilities. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/. Also, some of the images from Ancestry are available for free on Family Search at https://www.familysearch.org/en/.
We also searched the National Park Service database of Civil War Soldiers and Sailors and located a George Hiscock in the 4th Michigan Cavalry. In addition, we located a grave site for George Hiscock.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
