Enlistment Records for after WWI and Before WWII for Stanley Puchosic

    Newbie

My uncle,  Stanley Puchosic was aboard the USS Arizona from 1934 to 1940. I can find no enlistment records for him before 1937.  Can you tell me where to look for these records and how to ask for them?  He was born in 1912, lived in Pa until 1920 when the family moved to NY.  After his service ended in the early 1950s, he lived and died in California, specifically Long Beach.

      Thanks for your help

          Dear Mr. Puchosic,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

His enlistment records should be part of his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). OMPFs and medical records of enlisted men of the U.S. Navy who were separated from the service prior to 1955 are located at NARA's National Personnel Records Center (NPRC), (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO  63138-1002. To request these records, please mail a completed GSA Standard Form 180 to NPRC.

We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
