Dear Ms. Jacoel,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We suggest that you search for 1968 directories on the City of New York’s website https://www1.nyc.gov/site/records/index.page or on Ancestry’s website at https://search.ancestryinstitution.com/search/category.aspx?cat=135 Ancestry has an extensive collection of city and area directories. These directories typically contain the name of the person, home and business addresses, and their occupation. There may be a fee for using Ancestry. Or you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/.
We also suggest that you review the National Archives’ website for tips on how to begin your genealogical research at https://www.archives.gov/research/genealogy/start-research
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
