1 person found this helpfulDear Ms. Fredrick,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the Records of U.S. Army Operational, Tactical, and Support Organizations (World War II and Thereafter) (Record Group 338) but were unable to locate records of the 3rd Armored Cavalry for 1963 & 1964.
Morning reports for Army units dated 1960-1974 are in the custody of NARA's National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. Please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail it to NARA's National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002. The semi-annual rosters (i.e., April and October) for 1960-74 for Army units are attached to the morning reports of the unit.
The U.S. Army Military History Institute, The Army Heritage & Education Center, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013, has a large collection of published unit histories. Their web site is https://www.ahco.army.mil/site/index.jsp. It is possible that they have a history of the 3rd Armored Cavalry.
We hope this is helpful.
