    looking for my biological father

    Newbie

Looking for my biological father, all I know is his name, his relatives are from Tennessee, has a bunch of kids, his grandfather was in the civil war. Just trying to find something about this. Where do I start?

          Dear Alex McCoy,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

There are several options for locating birth parents such as joining a reunion registry for adoptees and their birth parents. Or websites like Adopted that use DNA testing as a method of linking people with their birth parents/children.

If you have not already done so, you also may want to try searching for your father on a genealogy website such as FamilySearch or Ancestry.  Ancestry may charge a fee to use their site, but FamilySearch is free to join.

We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck on your family research!
