J. Andrew Jul 6, 2019 10:00 AM (in response to robyno)1 person found this helpfulThe short version is that the 4th Infantry Division assaulted the Utah beach. The 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions landed (via parachute and glider) to the west of Utah beach. The 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions assaulted the Omaha beach. The various regiments within in each division were assigned their own areas within each beach, though the actual points of landings didn't always correspond entirely with the assigned points of landings. I've seen a map posted here before breaking down where the various units within each division landed.

1 person found this helpfulDear Ms. Plunkett,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We located a pamphlet on Normandy on the U.S. Center of Military History website. The pamphlet provides a description of the invasion and what units land where. A list of the Army divisions involved in the invasion is located on page 45.
We hope this information is helpful.
