      Hello:

      I am looking for electronic copies of the files from the Office of War Information prior to and just after World War Two. I can access the Preliminary Inventory pdf but am having no luck finding the individual documents listed in the inventory. OWI's record group is 208.

          We search the National Archives Catalog and located 610 record series in Record Group 208 split between four different custodial units.  Within these 610 record series, there are 801 items that have been digitized in various formats and made available online through the Catalog.  The remaining records are only available in their original format. Please see the National Archives Catalog Search Tips for more information on how to best use the Catalog.

          Please provide us with the citation from the preliminary inventory or other information about the types of records you are seeking plus the topic of your research and we would be happy to help you locate these records as well as refer you to the appropriate reference unit.
