Statistics on Department of Defense personnel in US by county?

I am trying to get headcounts of DoD personnel on active duty in the United States, broken down by county, for each year from 1960-1980. I have come across the files at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/dwp/dwp_reports.jsp , which simply group by Alaska, Hawaii, lower 48. Are there any records which give county-level counts (or below)?

Various offices within the Department of Defense have informed us that no agency of the Federal Government has ever compiled comprehensive lists of all individuals who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during selected time periods from particular counties or communities. If you have not already done so, we suggest you contact your state's Adjutant General's Office (https://www.ngaus.org/about-ngaus/contact-or-visit-ngaus/find-your-state-association).
