1 person found this helpfulDear Mr. Mccollum,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the Population Schedules for the 1930 Census and the Population Schedules for the 1940 Census in the National Archives Catalog but were unable to locate Lum Hobdy as digital images have not yet been added to the Catalog. Therefore, we searched FamilySearch and located a Lum Hobdy in the 1930 census and 1940 census in Winnfield, LA.
We also searched on Ancestry and located a social security death record for a Lum Hobdy from Louisiana and an entry on Find A Grave. And we located a 1961 Missouri marriage record for a Lum Hobdy. To view these records on Ancestry, there may be a fee. Or you may view the records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/.
We also located a veterans’ gravesites record pertaining to military service in the Korean War for a Lum Hobdy. We suggest that you may want to request an Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for him. To request an OMPF, please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail it to NARA's National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck on your research!
