1 person found this helpfulDear Ms. Kleinberg,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The National Archives at Washington, DC holds federal records relating to the Continental Army. See this topic page on The American Revolution for more information about these records. However, state militia records are in the custody of state archives. We recommend contacting the Pennsylvania State Archives to inquire about their holdings. The Pennsylvania State Archives have also made available online a research guide to Revolutionary War Militia Battalions and Companies. The Center for Military History, the Museum of the American Revolution, the State Library of Pennsylvania, and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania might also be about to provide some assistance. You may also be interested in the article “Explaining Pennsylvania’s Militia” in the Journal of the America Revolution.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
