Compiled Service Records of Soldiers Who Served in the American Army During the Revolutionary War are in the custody of the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1). See Requesting Copies of Older (pre-WWI) Military Service Records for information about ordering reproductions of these records. Questions about these records can also be directed to RDT1 via email at archives1reference@nara.gov.
As part of our on-going commitment to preserve our records, the National Archives has entered into partnerships with Ancestry and Fold3 to digitize some of NARA’s holdings. The records you seek are now available in digital form and can be viewed online via https://www.fold3.com/title/470/revolutionary-war-service-records. There may be a fee for this service. You may view these records online at one NARA’s facilities for free via ALIC.
