    Unidentified left-hander identified!

Here's my latest discovery: William H Dougal, who signed his entry as "Will," also noted his last name, Dougal, on the last page of his entry (the back of a page?). Being the dogged librarian that I am (and apparently not having anything else to do this evening), using his unit designation and date of wounding, found the now-obvious soldier named Dougal, as well as the chaplain he identified by his initials, in a really cool online reference book. It's in a section of the Bourne papers called "Entries not identified by number, or by name." I assume that adding a tag for him is enough.

This is the handy online register in which I found him and his entire Connecticut unit.
