Dear Mr. Sutour,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located a Maria Sutour who arrived in New York on Dec 3, 1916 from Havana, Cuba and a Robert Louis Sutour who arrived in 1907 from France within the Passenger and Crew Lists of Vessels Arriving at New York, New York, 6/16/1897 - 7/3/1957. This series is on microfilm and is available at the National Archives at Washington DC - Textual Reference (RDT1); their email address is email@example.com. We also searched the 1910, 1920 and 1930 Census records but were unable to locate Maria Sutour.
Using Ancestry, we located the same Maria Sutour and a Maria Sotter who arrived in New York from Italy on April 10,1908 as well as a Maria Yvoane Sutour who arrived in Laredo, Texas from Mexico on May 5, 1923; this may or may not be a match.
We also located a Robert Louis and Christine Sutour arriving in New York on June 20, 1907 from Cherbourg, France and a Robert L Sutor arriving in New York on March 18,.1912 from Cuba, as well as a Robert Sutour who arrived in New York on July 6, 1926 from Cuba and a Robert Sutour who arrived in Key West, Florida from Cuba on October 1, 1927. To access these records on Ancestry, there may be a fee. Or you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/. Also, some of the images from Ancestry are available for free on Family Search at https://www.familysearch.org/en/.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
