2 people found this helpfulDear Ms. Litwin,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Population Schedules for the 1900 Census and the Population Schedules for the 1910 Census in the Records of the Bureau of the Census (Record Group 29) but unfortunately, digital images for Berrien County, Michigan have not been added to the Catalog yet.
Therefore, we searched the 1900 Census on Ancestry and located a Augusta Ackonhusen/Anna Augusta Ackenhusen/A Ackonhusen who was born in Illinois on August 1862. We also search the 1910 Census on Ancestry and located a Augusta Ackenhusen. We also located the 1882 Illinois marriage record for John and Augusta; the births of William & John. Additional records pertaining to the family were located. To view these records, there may be a fee. Or you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/. Also, some of the images from Ancestry are available for free on Family Search at https://www.familysearch.org/en/.
For more information, please contact the Michigan History Center.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!

Re: Seeking records about Augusta Freudenstein Ackenhusen
Lynn Dixon Sep 14, 2020 12:23 AM (in response to Lana Litwin)She is also my Great Grandmother on my Father's side (Duane Edward Ackenhusen).
She is the wife of John H. Ackenhusen.
She is mother of Ernst Ackenhusen, also, I believe, and Grandmother of Duane Edward Ackenhusen.
Let me know if we can share information. There are not many Ackenhusens, but first names duplicate. It gets confusing to follow.
Lynn Ackenhusen-Dixon
