We searched the National Archives Catalog and located file units that mention Liebig's Extract of Meat Company in the General Records of the Department of State (Record Group 59). The company is referenced in file unit 976/146- 990/50 within the record series Numerical Files, 8/1906 - 1910 and file unit 763.72112/4200-4379 within the record series Central Decimal Files, 1910 - 1963. Both of these file units have been digitized and may be viewed online through the Catalog.
Additional record series which might have relevant information include General Records, 1914 - 1958 within Records of the Bureau of Foreign and Domestic Commerce (Record Group 151), and Narrative Reports, 1904 - 1994 within Records of the Foreign Agricultural Service (Record Group 166). Neither of these record series are available online. To access these records contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.
We also located a reference to records created by the Liebig's Extract of Meat Co Ltd in the catalog of the United Kingdom’s National Archives. Please contact them with questions about these records. The Archivo General de la Nación in Montevideo, Uruguay may also have records relevant to your research. Another institution that might be able to help you is the National Agricultural Library of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
