1 person found this helpfulDear Mr. Schneider,
Thank you for posting your question to the History Hub!
Due to the fire of 1973, the Army and Air Force provided the National Personnel Records Center at St. Louis with World War I Enlisted Men Final Military Pay Vouchers, 1917 - 1921, World War I Officers and Nurses Final Pay Vouchers, 1917 - 1921, and Final Pay Vouchers Post WWI, WWII, and Post WWII 1926-1950, 1961-1962 (Army and Air Force). Typically pay records were not considered permanent, but the NPRC uses them to reconstruct a veteran’s service history.
For records beyond this period, please contact the Army and Air Force Records Managers to inquire about their records schedule and public requests.
We hope this information has been helpful!
