2 people found this helpfulDear Mr. Birkett,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Index to War of 1812 Pension Application Files which is the information you have. We also located the War of 1812 Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files in the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs, 1773 - 2007 (Record Group 15). Some of the files have been digitized and available via the Catalog. Please click on the second link above and search for the file. If the files you seek have not been digitized and added to the Catalog yet, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1) via email at archives1reference@nara.gov.
The index and the pension files also are available online via fold3. There should not be a fee but if there is, you may view these records online at one of NARA's facilities for free via a NARA PC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult NARA's web page at http://www.archives.gov/locations/.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
