1 person found this helpfulDear Ms. Jackson,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the Records of the Office of the Judge Advocate General (Army) (Record Group 153), Records of the Office of the Provost Marshal General (Record Group 389) and the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917- (Record Group 407), but were unable to locate any information concerning your uncle’s status as a prisoner of war.
We also searched the files of the World War II Prisoners of War Data File, 12/7/1941-11/19/1946 and the World War II Prisoners of the Japanese File, 2007 Update, ca. 1941 - ca. 1945 in the Access to Archival Databases (AAD) but were unable to locate a data file for your uncle as a POW during WWII.
We hope this is helpful.

Do you have documentation from his service that suggest he was a POW or any letters he was able to send home with unit information. I've looked at other sources and are coming up blank as well. Maybe if you knew what unit or division he was with it could help.
Thanks,
Elliot Schneider
