Sparks Bonnett, March 1945, San Francisco

Hello, In March 21 & 22, 1945 San Francisco Examiner articles, it stated that Sparks Bonnett (U.S. Property Deputy Director in San Francisco for 5 months and previous chief of the Office of Price Administration's [OPA] tire rationing branch) was asked to resign from his San Francisco position and was being investigated by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office for accusations of favoritism in the disposal of Government property. I believe that Sparks' previous position at OPA was in Washington D.C., but the investigations reported in the San Francisco Examiner involved his 5-month activities in his San Francisco position.

I was not able to find any further information after March 21 & 22, 1945. Does NARA have any files that discuss the investigation, any charges filed, court case and/or resolution? Thank you! - Christy
