1 person found this helpfulDear Mr. Kovanda,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located a series titled the Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT), 1936 - 2007 in the Records of the Social Security Administration ( Record Group 47). This database is searchable on Access to Archival Databases (AAD) and located data for Paavo Olavi Airola in the Application (SS-5) Files, 1936 - 2007 and the Death Files, 1936 - 2007.
We also located a series titled Manifests of Passengers Arriving in the Saint Albans, Vermont, District through Canadian Pacific and Atlantic Ports, 1/11/1895 - 11/30/1954 in the Records of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (Record Group 85). For access to these records, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC (RDT1) via email at archives1reference@nara.gov. The manifests are available on microfilm as National Archives Microfilm Publication No. M1464 via RDT1 and digitally via ancestry.com or familysearch.org.
We also located a citation to an obituary and a grave site for Airola
Additional records may be available by submitting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the US Citizenship and Immigration Service.
We hope this information is useful. Best of luck with your research!
