Goppingen during and at the close of WWII

I am searching for anyone living or stationed in Goppingen in 1945, as the American forces took up residence at the end of WWII. This is for family research. In particular interested in anyone familiar with U.S. Army occupying the home of the Fostmaster (Forest Master) Ernst Laemmert and family.

To clarify, "shared" the home would be more accurate. Army officers used the downstairs of the Forest Master's house for daytime administration offices, while the family lived upstairs. Many family stories of friendships formed between U.S. Army and family. Were you there? Have a father who was and told stories?

      Thank you.
