    Operation Husky

    Newbie

Luciano bargained an agreement with the State Department to benefit himself and the U.S. He would get the Mafia to guard against sabotage by Germans and assist the Allies in Operation Husky in Italy, especially the invasion of Sicily. Luciano's men identified themselves with yellow scarfs with the letter "L" on it, so the Allies knew who they were. What type of "L" was it? A script L or a print L? I'm in possession of a yellow scarf but can't find out about the "L".

Can anyone HELP? I'm semi retired but helping out a local high school with all my material I used while actively teaching (practically a WWII museum) and I need this info.
