Dear Ms. Bania,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Border crossing records from Canada to the U.S. from about 1895 to 1960 are recorded in what is often called the “St. Albans Lists.” Although researchers may assume these records only recorded crossings at St. Albans, VT, they actually reflect crossings from numerous entry points along the border, including entries at Buffalo, NY. These records are now available in digital form and can be viewed online via FamilySearch.org for free at https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1803785; and/or Ancestry.com for a fee at https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/canadianbc/. Or you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/.
We hope this information is useful. Best of luck with your family research!
