          Dear Ms. Georgieva,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

Here a few suggestions that may prove useful in researching your great-grandparent.  First, please search for his passenger arrival record. To learn more about searching for passenger lists, see NARA’s web site at https://www.archives.gov/research/immigration

Secondly, do you know whether he may have naturalized and become a US citizen?  If it is possible he did and you have an idea of which state he resided in, you could try to locate a Petition for Naturalization.  Refer to this list of states and corresponding National Archives offices to determine which location maintains the records for the area where Vasil resided.

And lastly, based on the time frame when Vasil would have been in the country, it is possible that the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) could have created a file on him.  To determine if a record exists, you can place an Index Search request through the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) Genealogy Program.

We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck on your family research!
