It looks like there is only one scanned in the Library of Congress for El Cajon: https://www.loc.gov/collections/sanborn-maps/?q=el+cajon However, it doesn't seem to cover your area, unfortunately, and may be from too long ago anyway (1899).
Another place to look is http://historicalmaps.arcgis.com/usgs/ which is a great online viewer for historic USGS topo maps. There are quite a few old maps in your area, hopefully you'll find some clues!
