We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 5 series for the U.S. Embassy, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (1933-1992) in the Records of the Records of the Foreign Service Posts of the Department of State (Record Group 84) that cover the time period of 1948. We suggest that you search under class 121: Diplomatic Branch and 124: Embassy's and legations for records are arranged according to the Department of State Foreign Service Post Decimal Classification Scheme.
Also in the Central Decimal Files, 1910 - 1963 of the General Records of the Department of State (Record Group 590, we suggest that you search under decimals 121.34 - Transportation of American Diplomatic Officers or 861.70 - Transportation in Russia.
