This is a bit of a trick question! In 1920, the United States only had 48 states. Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the 19th Amendment which made it the final ratification necessary to add the amendment to the Constitution. The additional 12 states ratified over the span of 64 years!
Hawaii and Alaska were still U.S. Territories in 1920.
