Intelligence work in Tunis prior to North African Landings (1942)?

I am looking for communications between the America consulate in Tunis and Tangiers or Gibraltar prior to the November 1942 landings in French North Africa. This was mentioned in Hal Vaugh's "FDR's Apostles". The vice-consuls Utter, Springs and King were passing on information transmitted by the local French Resistance. After the North African landings, contacts were renewed by clandestine radio transmitters with Algiers and Malta. I am preparing a book on the French Resistance in Tunisia (1940-1943) and I am trying to evaluate the value of intelligence supplied.
