Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Most land records for the City of Alexandria are in the possession of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the Alexandria Circuit Court. This link explains how to access these records. Depending on your research interests, after you identify the names of past owners, you can also ask the Clerk of the Circuit Court staff about other records that may reveal information about their lives, such as wills, marriage licences, etc.
The records in the possession of the National Archives and Records Administration that are most likely to be useful for researching former inhabitants are census records.
