2 people found this helpfulDear Ms. Crabb,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the series Indexes to the Carded Records of Soldiers Who Served in Volunteer Organizations During the Civil War, 1899 - 1927 in Record Group 94 and located a file unit for David Davis in 62nd Infantry, Company G.
The Compiled Military Service Records (CMSR) and the pension files may include personal information to determine where David Davis lived. For access to and/or copies of these series, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC (RDT1) via email at archives1reference@nara.gov. These records are also available on ancestry.com and/or familysearch.org.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!

Elizabeth Crabb Mar 14, 2019 11:22 AM (in response to Rebecca Collier)I did contact the National Archives and received a reply today. As I suspected it is a different David Davis than my ancestor. Thank you for your assistance with my question.

Do you have any additional family information? Looking to see if he was married, had children and so forth. Any information may help to narrow my search for your individual.
