WWII MILITARY RECORDS

I am looking for the Military Records for my late Father-In-Law, Frederick van Straten, a South African, who was a member of the Artillery that fought in East Africa, North Africa and Italy during this War. He enlisted in 1939 and was a Soldier until the end of the War in 1945.

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

Since the United States did not join the war until 1941, your father-in-law probably enlisted in the South African Army. Records pertaining to his service should be located at the National Archives of South Africa.
