    Seeking information about uncles

I am seeking information about two of my uncles who resided in San Francisco California in the 1930s and 1940s.  They were both born in Spain. Their names:  Antonio Penedo and Juan Penedo.

          Dear Ms. Vega,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

Depending on the kind of information you are hoping to track down for Antonio and Juan, there are a number of research avenues to pursue.  This webpage may help as you begin your genealogy work: https://www.archives.gov/research/genealogy

Have you located your uncles in San Francisco on the US Census in 1930 or 1940?  This may be a good place to start as the census could give you some jumping off points for your research.  For example, there is a citizenship column on the census that may give you clues about their status in the United States.  If they indicate that they naturalized, you could pursue those records through the National Archives at San Francisco (sanbruno.archives@nara.gov).

We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
