Searching for Compiled Service Records for Vermont Militia during War of 1812

I have an General Index Card for a war of 1812 vet with 3 years service and I was hoping to view the actual record for him. Vermont Militia service 1812 - 1815 in Fifield's 2nd Vermont Militia.

I should say that the Index Card record does not match any entry in the Compiled Service Records book, so it would seem to be necessary to find an alternate source. I am guessing that there is a Vermont Archives that would be my best bet?

  which includes at least one soldier transferred to Federal service who is not in the Compiled Service Records.
