Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We consulted with colleagues that specialize in Naval records and they were not aware of such an order. A search of the series "Index to Security-Classified Correspondence, 1940-1947" (NAID 2678553) did not turn up any documents relating to the Bismarck in the series "Security-Classified Correspondence, 1940-1947" (ARC Identifier 2678509). However, we do have some Intelligence Division files relating to the KMS Bismarck. It is possible that there may be additional records related to any interest the U.S. Navy may have taken in the Bismarck in the Records of Naval Operating Forces (Record Group 313) and the Records of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (Record Group 38). For questions about these records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov. For presidential records, please contact the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum via their Ask the Archivists page.We hope that this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
