Hey folks, I'm searching after German sources from US soil considering the years 1904 to 1907. I'm already using the newspaper collection of the LoC but I hope that there will be more available online- perhaps letters or documents of German speaking organisations within the US?
My project deals with the opinions and statements of German-Americans concerning the war/genocide in Southwest-Africa, now called Namibia.
Thanks for any suggestions and help in advance!
Dear Mr. Korling,
Thank you for posting your question to History Hub!
One potential resource is the Max Kade Institute for German-American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It looks like their library and archives has a pretty substantial collection of 20th century German-American publications. The University of Cincinnati’s German Americana Collection is another good possibility. It might be worth reaching out to the reference staffs at these institutions for further guidance.
Best of luck with your research!
