Do I need to create an account to transcribe on Crowd?

I'm not sure I want to create another account to work on transcriptions on Crowd.  Is it necessary or can I transcribe without one?

Great question, Darren. Registering for an account is optional. Anyone can transcribe on crowd.loc.gov, but users who create an account can also tag and review transcriptions.

Click "Register" at the top right of the Crowd homepage to make an account. You'll need to enter your email and create a username. Your username will be visible to other volunteers and users of the site. You might like to choose the same name you use over here on History Hub, but it's entirely your choice.
