How can I request / obtain a copy of the ships log from the USS Independence CV-62 from October 1983 to February 1984?

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Record Group 24) and located deck logs of the USS Independence (CV-62) for January to December 1983. For access to and copies of these records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.

Deck Logbooks of the USS Independence after 1983 are available via the Naval History and Heritage Command.
