We searched the Navy Filing Manual and located eight vessels that had the Patrol Vessels - River Gunboat designation of PR: Palos (PR-1), Monocacy (PR-2), Wake (PR-3), Tutuilla (PR-4), Panay (PR-5), Oahu (PR-6), Luzon (PR-7, and Mindanao (PR-8). The deck logs of these gunboats and information about the Marine Corps units that may have served on them prior to WWII are in the custody of the National Archives in Washington, DC (RDT1). Please email RDT1 via archives1reference@nara.gov for access and copies of these records.
