Thank you for contacting the History Hub regarding war veterans. You are able to search ancestry.com or fold3.com with subscription access or familysearch.org (free online access) for soldier records. You are also welcome to visit the National Archives in Washington D.C. to research records in person, or hire a researcher if you are unable to visit.
I hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research.
