Thank you for contacting the History Hub regarding Civil War records. Death records were not kept by the US Government for the Civil War. However, you may possibly find dates of death in the Compiled Military Service Record (CMSR), widow or minor pension applications, or soldier carded medical records. These records are available to review at the National Archives in Washington D.C. Or, you may order online or by mail.
