Thank you for your question to History Hub. A quick search on our online catalog retrieved five relevant series under the search term SCARWAF. However, only one of the series covers 1951, the rest of the records document a few years after. The series is General Correspondence,1947-1954. When I did a search of the container list, box 1902 contains decimal file 322 Scarwaf which according to the War Department Filing Manual deals with organizations and tactical units. I was also able to locate a unit command historical report for the 839th aviation engineer battalion from 1953.
Both the General Correspondence and the historical report about the 839th are located at the National Archives in College Park, MD. For information regarding these records, please contact the Archives II Textual Reference Staff at archives2reference@nara.gov. Best of luck with your research!
