Is there a content listing for record group 51.8?

I'm checking to see if there is possibly a transcript of a talk to the Bureau of the Budget by General Laurence Craigie in Sept or Oct. 1947.

          Ms. Mudrock,

Without specific content related information (entry #s, entry titles from the catalog based on a keyword search), it is difficult to establish whether or not the contents you seek are within the records of this particular part of the Office of Management and Budget (RG 51).  However, based on the information you provided and the creating organization (the Bureau of the Budget), I narrowed down your search based on the date you provided (1947) and the fact that General Craigle was a member of the US Air Force to three specific entry numbers about which you may want to inquire.  They are as follows with relevant catalog links:

RG 51 (Records of the Office of Management and Budget)
          Entry #'s:

          1. A1 52A, "Records Relating to Budgetary Administration in the Department of the Air Force," see (https://catalog.archives.gov/id/76048918)
          2. A1 68A, "Records Relating to Budgetary Administration in the Department of the Air Force [47.7b]" see (https://catalog.archives.gov/id/7364991)

          3. A1 98A, "Records Relating to Budgetary Administration in the Department of the Air Force [47.7d]" see (https://catalog.archives.gov/id/7365061)

For more assistance regarding your request within the boxes of and beyond the provided information above, I would write to the reference staff at Archives II in College Park, MD by e-mailing archives2reference@nara.gov.  They will get you connected with an archival staff member more familiar with these records who can get you closer to the specific contents of your request, provide information related to visiting our research rooms and viewing these records, or provide an estimate relating to reproducing a portion of or all of these records should you request that option.

Thank you for inquiring with History Hub!
