          Dear Ms. Wheeler,

Thank you for contacting the History Hub.

Over the past ten years and as part of our ongoing commitment to preserve our records, the National Archives has entered into partnerships with Ancestry to digitize some of NARA's holdings. That is how the Passport Applications have become available in digital form. There may be a fee for printing. Otherwise, you may view these records online at one of the NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/

I hope this information will be helpful to you in your research.

          Alexis Hill
