Oren Kaplan Jun 25, 2018 10:18 AM (in response to Elliot Schneider)Dear Mr. Schneider,
I appreciate your informative response.
We know of the source you have mentioned and have I think gleaned what we can from it. At this point we are interested in the specific record groups of the official documents that supposedly can be found in the National Archives in College Park, MD: morning and action reports etc of the period from 1 Dec 1943 - 30 Feb. 1944 as well as any unit history.
Again thank you for your time in trying to assist us.
Sincerely,
Oren Kaplan

I suggest contacting the following below they have unit history and, after action reports, and sometimes they have casualties lists, and general Orders within these files. They are located in box# 507-512. Please indicate the unit your seeking, and dates. Their archivist will be able to assist and provide copies for a fee. Hope this helps.

Re: Records for the 112th Cavalry Regiment for Dec 1943 - Feb 1944
Oren Kaplan Jun 26, 2018 1:32 AM (in response to Elliot Schneider)Dear Mr. Schneider,
Thank you so very much for your continued interest in directing us to primary resources.
The Eisenhower Library and material you discovered in it contains what should prove quite valuable in that it seems to overlap with what apparently is found at the National Archives; each perhaps containing material that the other may not.
If you (or any of the other kind researchers) discover other archives or first hand information about the 112th in the period of interest of Dec 1943 now through Mar 1944 we would be grateful.
Just so everyone knows; we are aware of the books that have been commercially published on the 112th and will be examining them for references to first hand information and official documents.
Wish you (any everyone) continued success in your commendable acts of research kindness !
Sincerely,
Oren Kaplan
