Peace Corps Placement Exam Posters

Doing research in the National Archives, I came across two light board slides which were images of Peace Corps Posters from the 1960s/70s, advertising the placement exam. What was noteworthy about them was that they included images of African art and other cultural artifacts currently in museums. I am looking to find image online of such a poster, direction towards a repository of Peace Corps posters, or even more simply more historical background regarding the history of Peace Corps Posters.

Thank you for using History Hub. Records of the Peace Corps (Record Group 490) are housed at our College Park, Maryland facility (Archives 2). Here is a listing of series of textual records.

From this list, you might wish to search “Public Relations Subject Files, 1962-1970,” and “Program Correspondence Files, 1963-1995”. For more information on these records, contact the reference staff at Archives2Reference@nara.gov.

Posters themselves are found in series 490-P, which is in the Stills unit at Archives 2. For more information, contact stillpix@nara.gov.
