How and where to review Revolutionaly War records.
Hello John,
There are allot of places out there for Revolutionary war records, depending on what you are trying to look for. Here are some things you can start with. Hope this can get you started.

Older military personnel records (generally prior to WWI) are on file at the National Archives and Records Administration, Old Military and Civil Records Branch (NWCTB), Washington, DC 20408.
Thanks,

Mr. Percy,
Thank you for contacting the history hub. Revolutionary War records are stored in Washington D.C. However, they are not accessible to the public. All Revolutionary War files have been digitized and made available via Fold3.com, with the exception of Final Payment Vouchers (FPV). FPV can be requested for review in person or ordered online. Colonial records or Revolutionary records are also held by the colonial states.
Alternative resources for Revolutionary War records may be state archives of the original colonies, the Daughters of the American Revolution, or Sons of American Revolution.
I hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Jenny
Dear Mr. Percy -
You might also find helpful documents in the collections of the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress. A good percentage of our holdings relating to the Revolutionary War are described in the publication Manuscript sources in the Library of Congress for research on the American Revolution which can be accessed on the HathiTrust Website.
Information about doing research in the Manuscript Division can be found on our Website.
Sincerely yours,
