The Deck Logs of the USS Fiske (DD-842) for 1959 during are available within the holdings of the National Archives at College Park, MD. We have several options to view the records.
You may order reproductions of these Deck Logs by emailing email@example.com. If you choose to order reproductions, in your email please include your mailing/shipping/billing address. Additionally, in your email you will need to include the name of the ship and the specific dates for which you are seeking reproductions. National Archives Reference Staff will respond with a reproduction quote based on the details of your request. Our current fee for reproductions is $.80 per page with one month of logs from this time period averaging 75 pages. Once you have received a reproduction quote, you are under no obligation to complete the order.
Alternatively, if you are researching a specific incident during 1959, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information and the Reference Staff will be happy to conduct a records review on your behalf. For this option, please include:
--The name of the ship involved in the incident
--A description of the incident and the name of any individuals involved
--The date or the date range in which the incident occurred not to exceed 3 months
--Any additional information relevant to the incident or claim that will assist in the review
Additionally, you or your representative may review these records in the research reading room at the National Archives in College Park, MD. The Textual Reference Archives II Branch (RDT2) is located at 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD, near the University of Maryland--College Park campus.
--Textual Research Room (Room 2000) hours are 8:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, except legal holidays.
--Our reference consultation room hours are 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. No appointment is necessary.
--Records are retrieved Monday through Friday for use in the Textual Research Room at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. We do not pull in advance and we cannot guarantee records will be available during your visit. Records are retrieved on a first come first serve basis. Records are generally available about an hour after the pull-time.
