A possible explanation of the abbreviations or acronyms on the pay statement is that there should have been a space between "AFD" and "GO." If so, the "AFD" probably indicated "Absence From Duty" with “GO” meaning General Order as in this example that was found online:
Remarks: No.A.W.O.L. No Absence from duty under..G.O.645 W.D. 1914
