Thank you for posting your request to the History Hub!
We searched the Records of the Office of the Quartermaster General (Record Group 92) and located in series titled Missing Air Crew Reports (MACRs), 1942 - 1947, MACR # 8176 for Karpe and the rest of the crew. It contains KU 2758. MACR # 8175 for the plane that went down at the same time contains some burial information regarding Karpe in AV 1637/45. Digitized copies of MACRs # 8175 & 8176 are available online via Fold3 at http://go.fold3.com/. There may be a fee for using this service. Or you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at http://www.archives.gov/locations/.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
