What is meant by "Pull Times?"

    Kenneth Nugent Newbie

And are they relevant to microfilm searches?

These are the times when requested records are "pulled" from the stacks for researcher use.

Microfilm is self-service; reels are available for use in the research room, no pull slips required.

            Dear Mr. Nugent,

The pull times are times throughout the day in which researchers can submit requests for materials to be pulled from the stacks for researchers to use. Those times are 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00. If you wish to request something held in a classified stack, those requests can only be made at 10:30 and 2:00 due to staffing. To answer your question in regards to microfilm; my colleague Alan Walker is correct in stating that most microfilm is self-service, however, there are a few accessioned series of microfilm that will be needed to be submitted during one of the pull times e.g. Navy and Marine Corps Muster Rolls. I hope this information helps. Thank you again for your question to HistoryHub and best of luck in your research!
